On Wednesday we had a pretend fire in room 13.

Some of our students got to dress up like firemen and rode in the fire engine with the real firemen.

Surrealism - Salvador Dali

Today we started looking at Salvador Dali - A surrealism artist.  Surrealism is described as bizarre, unusual and dreamlike pictures or paintings.

Salvador Dali has given the writer/illustrator Anthony Browne ideas to use in his pictures.  We are having a good look at his books and his illustrations as well.

What unexpected things can you see in this picture by Anthony Browne?

We are going to make our own pictures like Salvador Dali's painting - The Persistence of Memory - to help us with learning about time.

Mihi Weaving & Aurasma

At the end of last term we completed our Mihi weavings.





Then I took a video of each child saying their Mihi and used an iPad app called Aurasma to create an augmented reality of their weaving. If you open the app and put it over their weaving a video comes up showing them saying their Mihi. VERY COOL!
